What are your fees?

About what many consumers pay in sales tax.  Fees vary by practice, depending on the size and specialty of the practice, volume of claims and any additional services contracted.  We believe that this approach enables us to provide affordable services to even the smallest of practices, without compromising quality.  Request more info on fees for your practice!

How do we get the necessary information to you?

Our clients are given their own, exclusive fax number that places all faxes directly into the Secure Documents section in Kareo.  Material can also be uploaded directly from a PC or a scanner.  For larger clients, this is done daily.  For smaller clients, this is done at least once a week.

How often are patients billed?  What about past due accounts?

Patients are billed on a monthly basis for any balance due – once an EOB has been received from their insurance carrier.  Patients will receive past due notices for 30, 60, and 90 days past due.  We do not call your patients about their debt- we will work with you if a collection agency is needed.  Patients receive a professional, healthcare clinic statement that includes a tear-away section and return envelop.

Is there a Setup Fee?

Although we invest a tremendous amount of time and energy enrolling your practice with various carriers, configuring the system for your practice, adding providers and patient records, etc. – all of which take place before generating any claims, we do not charge any setup fees.  We are so confident in our ability to help you succeed that we are willing to make the investment.

How soon can we get started?

We can start immediately.  Once we receive the necessaary information from you, we can setup a single provider in less than a day (depending on circumstance), and start submitting claims as quickly as 48 hours later for most commercial payers.  (In general, it takes a bit longer for Medicaid and Medicare enrollments.)

What reports are available?

You are able to run ANY report you’d like, whenever you want and as often as you want.

Can the physician’s office have remote access to their data?

Yes.  We provide login access for a number of users from your practice as part of our services.   Clients have access to view anything they want within the system, as well as run any reports they’d like.

What are the advantages of using a billing service?

Using an outside billing service has many advantages:
• Puts your employees back working for you, not working the insurance companies.
• Many health care providers see an increase of billing efficiency, based solely on the fact that their billing services concentrate strictly on billing.  This is not possible in the traditional clinical or private practice setting because of the different situations and tasks that arise within your office:
a. Interruptions by fellow staff members, patients or the provider.
b. Interruptions caused by the telephone.
c. Lack of billing consistency and efficiency caused by other projects or tasks not associated with billing.
• Re-direct your employees efforts toward un-finished projects that actually improve your practice.

What should a provider look for in a billing service?

While there are many things to consider, here are a top few to really look at:

• What type of software is utilized?  (State-of-the-art, cloud-based systems are critical; legacy approaches such as Medlook or Medisoft simply cannot keep-up with the fast-paced and ever-changing medical billing environment.)
• What clearinghouses are utilized to process your claims?  (Not all clearinghouses are the same… you really need a top-level clearinghouse for reliability, fewer rejections, fast processing, and comprehensive reporting features.)

What are our software options?

Medibill is designed to handle the business-side of your practice.  Your clinical operations and needs can be completely independent of our platform.  We just need you to fax or upload your chargeslips and patient information to your dedicated secure documents section of our system.  You can use your access to Kareo as often or as seldom as you’d like… you do not need to know anything about our software except its integrated Fax number to realize its extensive benefits.
